      Title: Emma Canute's Christmas Porridge

    1/2 c  Water
      1 c  Short-grain rice
      1 ts Salt
  4 1/2 c  Whole milk
      2 tb Sugar
      1 tb Cinnamon
      1 tb Butter
 
  Bring the water, rice, and salt to a boil in a pot,
  covered, and keep it boiling for about two minutes. Add
  the milk and reduce to a low heat, simmering for about
  35 to 45 minutes. Check the mixture and stir regularly,
  making sure it’s not burning or sticking to the bottom.
  Mix the cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle it on the warm
  porridge. Top with the butter.
