• msg_your_scan question

From Dumas Walker@1:103/705 to DIGITAL MAN on Thu Oct 30 10:14:25 2025
Is there a reason that messages downloaded via QWK (by a user and not a QWK node) are not marked received/read so that they don't later show up in a msg_your_scan request?

I have recently been trying to read messages on the BBS more, instead of by QWK, and the msg_your_scan is spitting out messages that are often several years old and long since read (hopefully!). OTOH, the msg_new_scan seems to honor the last read pointers and doesn't show these old messages addressed to me.

Assuming you're talking about messages addressed to you (not "All" or someone else)... that sounds like a bug. Bugs filed at https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues are more likely to be fixed. :-)
