Yeah, I am thinking of not progressing with it as it seems to have weird issues

I am not going to use it as I cannot see all the messages. I have a cloudflared ssh to my fidonet box in case I feel the need to read mail away

Try this version I've been maintaining. Should have a lot less wierd issues, and more features:

Adding to my last reply, in the config file, just comment out "notzutc" and it will display the kludge they're asking for.

As for the CHRS kludge displaying IBMPC, my fork should fix that and change it to CP437, also. If you use CP850, just change CP437 on line 60 of smapinntpd.xlat:

    readalias IBMPC CP437; to
    readalias IBMPC CP850

After initial install, you need to run 'smapinntpd -create' to create a default config file. Check /docs/smapinntpd.txt for explanations of each config option. Once you like your configuration, run it like this 'smapinntpd -config /path/to/smapinntpd.config &', and if you wish to keep it running, you may want to look into starting it at boot time via whatever means you can do that.

Let me know what you think of the added features/options and if it works better for you than the original. :)

    Regards,
    Nick

I gave up for now, but I will download that onto my jam mail system, I use bbbs fully, and will test it
