And.... Wouldn't it be possible to "cast" phone screen output to a
smart tv in-order to get a larger viewing experience?
They make an Android to HDMI cable I bring with me when I travel. I
keep all my movies on my phone, and play them on hotel TVs.
HOWDY!!!!!
LAST MESSAGE ON THIS BBS WAS TWO YEARS AGO.
ANYBODY HOME?
That was a really quick reply.
I calculated less than ten minutes from my posting to your reply.
I am in EDT, you're way West of me where the time is earlier.
I got back in to this BBS I in early January and have joined several echos.
I remember your Name from two years back before the DSL quit on me and Fiber didn't work with my XP box.
Been using a Android phone to get my BBS and internet fix.

Been using a Android phone to get my BBS and internet fix.
Tech suggested I should cancel DSL and order Fiber
Internet. I did, Fiber never worked after the Tech who
installed the service left when finally a website came up
on my notebook. [...]
Last year I ordered Fiber again, tried to get a website to
show up, failed again, cancelled again. [...]
This January I went to Cricketwireless and became their
customer.
Using this Android phone to log on the BBS is slightly
difficult but I'm here
As I wrote in some echo earlier, if I can get this thing
and the XP to work together I would be happy.
I think You suggested using Bluetooth between those
devices and I have been trying to learn where to get what
I need to do Bluetooth here.
The notebook isn't the MAIN PC here, I use it
occasionally. XP is a desktop, I rather use it at home
with AC Power.
I searched today for what I need and saw that it is a USB
Bluetooth 5.0 radio.
Doing Email and Texting on this phone I'm comfortable
with. BBSing takes a lot more work with the phone compared
to what I have been used to on all the computers I've used
in the past. C=64, 486, XP and Vista.
BOY! do I miss MultiMail DOS.

You are a natural to need an account with Alexy on
TELEMAIL (I think that was the name). August can help
you. Functionally it operates like a point system off
Alexy that delivers emailed packets.
August, do you have a list of echos on it?

You mean the Telegram-BBS?
MEMORIES is not on the list.
August, do you have a list of echos on it?
Anyone can fetch the current list by sending %LIST to
@Fido2telebot on Telegram.
But, I sense Ed wants a traditional/retro approach to echomail
including an experience with a proper keyboard and large
screen.

can entice Ed to give MEMORIES a shot on Telegram. :D

August, You're right saying "retro" I'm set in my ways .
As Mike mentioned, I am a user here, in the past I just
wrote a lot in many echos.

Maybe consider an external Bluetooth connected keyboard for
your phone as an alternative/standby until you get the pc
connections sorted out?

At one time, I had an Android phone with a bluetooth keyboard and little flip stand, loaded DOSBOX on it, and fired up Multimail, my QWK reader.
I was *mostly* able to read and write packets, but getting packets to it was a pain and needed a laptop. It was a fun experiment, though.
