They are not leaving because there is a governor who is as crazy as
Trump, but it is all much more banal.
However, it is not only the top of the housing market that is doing
badly now. The departure of more and more migrants and workers from Central America is also causing the bottom of the market to empty out.
With the departure of these foreign workers, local companies are also losing turnover. The local economy is therefore also getting a double
hit. The workers are leaving and with them some of the consumers.
But this summer there will also be far fewer tourists. The Canadians, for example, will no longer be coming in 2025. That much is clear. They were an important target group for Florida, but also for Las Vegas and the nature parks in the US.
All this is barely reflected in the figures. After all, the figures are lagging behind and summer has yet to come.

They've only been getting kicked out for the last couple months. That's not enough time to attribute their departure to anything (except for a loss in crime.)

There has been a large spike in people departing voluntarily... in other words, not being kicked out. There has also supposedly been a sharp drop in the number of legal workers who were coming into the SW US every day and then going back home at night. Busses brought them in and out, and employers are responsible for making sure they are on the bus in the evening.
Those workers don't want to put up with being hassled so they are not coming.

That might be true, but it sounds like number porn.
Think about it like this:
If they came in illegally, then how are they leaving in a way that we can measure?
"Hi, I came to your country illegally and now I am leaving voluntarily.lease
mark me down in your log book." :)
"..and I'm doing it because racist Trump is hassling me and it's not worthhe
hassle."

Everything that uses numbers and statistics sounds like number porn when it disproves a point. ;)
I am not certain all of them did come in illegally, but many are leaving on their own accord, legal or not.
It would be interesting to hear what their reasoning is.

It's crazy to let the media brainwash you.
Listen to yourself "the summer has yet to come." How much bs can you swallow in a single pill?
