• Synchronet Control Panel not loading automatically

From Massacre@1:103/705 to All on Wed Sep 11 08:58:28 2024
My Synchronet Control Panel not loading automatically. It was loading on startup fine yesterday until I modified sbbs.ini to get DoorParty working.

I changed the IP for RLOGIN from 0.0.0.0 to the IP of my "server" as the DoorParty docs said and Door Party still did not work.

I reverted the settings back and it still will not load. Rebooted and everything. If I manually start it, it comes u, but without the service control underneith Terminal Server and Events.

If I close the Control Panel and re-open it, the service controls come back.

I have since used echicken's documents and files to get DoorParty working, but the Control Panel is still acting strange.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you,

    Jason

This is unnecessary and their docs should not be telling you to do this.

For the sake of including it in this thread, instructions can be found here:

    and here:

Re: your other problem, if you can start Synchronet manually and you reverted *all* changes to sbbs.ini, then these are two separate issues being conflated as one.

    This page:

    https://wiki.synchro.net/install:win

    says:

"When the installation process is completed you may find a new Icon on your Desktop and/or your Startup Folder in your Start Menu. If you do not want Synchronet to start automatically during boot, you may safely delete the Synchronet shortcut from your Windows Startup Folder."

I don't know if this applies to your version of Windows, but I guess I'd start by checking that a shortcut to Synchronet Control Panel exists at that location.

    Thank you for the response.

It is set to start automatically in the startup folder. That is why it is strange. I will dig a little deeper in the logs.

Also, earlier, your DoorParty page made much more sense than the on from DoorParty. ;)
