    Its possible your v4 IP broke but v6 IP's were working. Not every site is
    on V6 yet.. a good test is to ping google via v4 and v6 and see if you get no reponse from the V4 IP. Xfinity is a dual-stack provider, much like my ISP,
    and I've seen this exact issue here.

    I'm thinking maybe that's why my IP changed ... the router screwed up
    so bad and they thought it was new of offline for too long. ?!?!?

    Could also be they had a messed up DHCP server, or moved your cable node to
    a different "CMTS" (cable router), which would cause you to get an IP out of
    a different subnet.
