My wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th with a 7-day cruise to the western Carribean, and to pay for rooms for both of our children and their spouses.

Having a great time. My worry was that the internet would not be sufficient to enable
me to do the things I normally do while away.

Thankfully, it is more than adequate. I can log off the wi-fi to the computer and switch
it to the phone. Very nice!

We also invited two other couples to join us, and they too are enjoying the trip.

Now, my biggest job is to get the lay of the land on this ship so I can get around. It
looks like I may gain a little weight; the food is excellent!

    Any other cruisers out there?

    Mike Dippel

Sounds like you guys are having fun! My two girls are graduating from high school this year so we are going to take them on a cruise this summer. I was
looking at some of the data packages and stuff so I"m glad to see you were able
    to log on!

I had unlimited internet access for 1 device, but I was able to switch back and forth from
my laptop to the phone and back again as many times as I wanted. The internet was
very adequate. This was on a Royal Carribean ship, not sure if others allow unlimited.
We pre-ordered and paid for it well before we boarded.

I hope you have good luck. Your children should enjoy it. This was my son's first cruise,
and his response was, "Dad, I don't want to get off the ship." He loved everything about
it, and said he will do it again.

Ours is going to be on Carnival but I think they have a similar "Per Device" plan from what I've read. I can also get a plan on my phone via AT&T and could
probably do a hot spot on it if I needed to I just haven't looked at the plans
    yet.

I'm looking forward to it. Glad you guys had fun!

If you have unlimited access that you can switch back and forth, it's a great deal. I
normally had my phone connected most of the time, giving me everything I needed
    while onboard the ship.

    Enjoy your journey.

Only day cruising. I have taken both the Pictured Rocks and Apostle
Islands cruises on Lake Superior. I recommend them both.
