Jupiter Travels Past NGC 1746 (early evening)
During April, the bright planet Jupiter will be travelling eastward between
the horns of Taurus, the Bull every evening in the western sky. On Thursday, April 10, its trajectory will carry it only 1.2 degrees to the south of the large and loose, magnitude 6.1 open star cluster NGC 1746 - close enough for them to share the view in a low power eyepiece. They'll be telescope-close
from April 4 to 14.
