Does any else have an Amazon Echo device? It allows me to take Alexa with me when I
travel. I own 2 of these devices. One is in my golf cart so I can stream music to a
portable Bluetooth speaker, and one is in the Motor Home.

It's great to be able to select the exact type of music you like listening to when travelling.

I used to own a Garmin device that had Alexa built-in. It had 3 good features: it acted as
a webcam so it would record everything while you travel, it had Alexa, and because it was
a Garmin product you could ask it for turn-by-turn navigation.

It didn't always work, and it blew away while using it in the golf cart. I miss it, but won't
    replace it.

I use a skill called MyMedia which allows me to stream the music collection I
have on my Linux box. It costs $5 a year to the basic license, this is because
it has to be streamed via their server. Alexa security and network separation
    and all that.

Ain't life grand! What did we do years ago? We listened to AM radio from an electric
device with limited stations. We listened to music in our cars on an 8-track tape. We
listened to vinyl in our room on a player of some kind.

Now, we take music with us everywhere for a small subscription fee.

You might have listened to 8 track. I'm not that old ;)

I did have some records and more so now. In fact I just took delivery of R.E.M.'s Out of Time on yellow vinyl. I have some other colored vinyl records
and a few rare Record Store Days released including A-ha's Hunting High and Low The Early Alternative Mixes (6000 copies), Peter Gabriel Rated PG (2000 copies), Queen Bo Rhap 2x12" picture disk and Bo Rhap/I'm in Love with My Car
7" (2300 and 2500 released). I've also got a Jean Michel Jarre RSD release of
    which only 75 were available.

I've got hundreds of 7" singles and thousands of CDs. I'm actually trying to sell the CDs so I can buy more vinyl :)

Now, we take music with us everywhere for a small subscription fee.

It's just a matter of which one to choose.

I AM that old! 72 almost 73, but who's counting?

I've got a ton of .45s and LPs from my younger days. I worked at a Radio Station in College as a DJ, and when they sold the station and the format was being changed, they were going to get rid of all the rock and roll records, so they let me pillage.

Also have a couple of hundred if not more CDs. I recently digitized all of my CDs and put them on the computer.

I did a short stint in hospital radio back in the UK in Winchester but I lost my job and moved across country and never picked it up again until I met someone who worked at a smaller station here in the Dallas area and got a show with a co-host and fellow Brit expat. We called it The British Invasion (of course), did that for a couple of years - was fun but the station also was changing formats and I have no interest in "Americana".

If you want some more, I'm selling at a resonable price :)

I've got several thousand CDs. I don't have the time or disk space to do all those!

I did pick up a bunch in a batch that I wouldn't want anyway.
