    Hello, fine BBS friends... hey, how does one do roBOT posts to FTN networks 'BBS Ads' message base? I notice that roBOTs post once a day in each FTN with an ad for their BBS. Or an ad for the weekly meetups. Or any other
    file/data...

    I'd like to run one ad for 2oForBeers at some point... what are the skills/steps needed?

    Since you are running Mystic, I think MUTIL is your friend.

    Somebody might correct me (since I dont use it anymore...)

    Ok, so use MUTIL to post in said FTN message bases once a day?? I can figure out the Mystic docs part; I just didn't know HOW people did those roBOT
    posts. I'll look into mutil.ini options on this matter.

    Thanks..

    Yup.

    You'll get mutil to post a text file. You should be able to set from/to/subjects, etc with arguments to mutil.

    Keep in mind, IIRC its buggy - you text file must have lines < 79 chars (especially when you have ANSI/pipe codes) in your posting.

    Lol, I'll stick to less than 79 and I'll convert it to Mystic color codes... and I'll test on tqw first. Lol.

    Paulie,

    In mutil.ini below is the section with a couple examples:

    [PostTextFiles]

    file1_baseidx = 61
    file1_from = The Godfather
    file1_to = All
    file1_subj = [ANSI] The Underground
    file1_addr = 21:1/100
    file1_delfile = false

    file2_name = under.ans
    file2_baseidx = 279
    file2_from = The Godfather
    file2_to = All
    file2_subj = [ANSI] The Underground
    file2_addr = 46:1/156

    [EXAMPLES OF MUTIL.INI FILE]

    Thanks, TG... I can totally handle that; Also I could do it several ways - whether I just run it with my daily toss, or create a new event 3x a week or whatever... I'll probably create an EVENT.INI and run it a few times a week.
    :P

    I appreciate the breakdown so I don't have to hunt very far.. you rock.

    I dropped mine to once a week, maybe once every other week. Every day
    was a bit much, especially for low volumn networks. But in any case,
    yes I also run a seperate .ini file for it so I don't have all of the multil.ini clutter to confuse me, and for that purpose.
