Who could forget. Where was everyone? I was about to board a TWA flight in the Phoenix Airport, when the first plane hit. watched it happen from the window 30 floors up, within the building she worked within. Scary times. Most of my moms side of the family live in New York (that are still alive ..) After my grandma's funeral .. wow .. to hear their stories about ducking down into the below ground shops to avoid the debris was insane to hear.

Whoah! That's so close. Scary.

I was getting out of the shower and saw the early news reports. Got into
work and everyone was freaking out at the office next door. I was working
in Marina Del Rey, CA at the time (it was actually the old South
Park production office), and turns out the business next to ours was owned
by someone who was one of the flights. Whole business went under a couple
weeks later. So sad.

So I remember that clearly. It would have been 10:30 or 11pm at night, I was working on my laptop and the TV was on. (I hot news presenter), and she interrupted a story to get a "news flash" from New York for one of the towers was on fire and many rumors.

I think the news broke into the US coverage 3 more times, and on the 3rd time, I saw the 2nd plane hit the other tower - with the comment "was that a plane?".

From then on, I think the news stayed on and was streaming everything from the US. I woke my girlfriend up and told her that something was happening in the US. We probably went to bed around 2am.

Not long after, I went to the US (I think about 2 or 3 months after), and was just jaw dropping of what I saw.

Thanks, tG - you'll be missed in the weekly... I was rushing employees of mine out the door to go sell sell sell, hardly paying attention to the news of the morning just so I could make the almighty buck.

We rapidly figured out what the day held, and called all the guys back to the office... I had to go get a truck out of impound and I remember how horrible the entire country felt together. At once.

It was the worst day ever. Period.

It's amazing how far our news spreads but that was one heck of an event. Within 30 minutes of the 2nd plane hitting (around the time the third hit the pentagon) they announced over the intercom that the National Guard was on its way to all airports and we were being asked to immediately vacate the airport.
