Hello everybody!
As some of you many know I've recently switched setups around to now
using Husky.
I havn't been able to find much documentation about the "BAD" message
area and how htp uses it.
I've got 2 fido feeds right now and I'm seeing messages every day go
into the BAD area with the following message:
FROM: 2:250/1
REASON: Sender not active for this area
AREANAME: SYNCHRONET
Any ideas?

Since having a second feed to fido, I too am getting notifications from Vince
about such a thing. I got a rather angry Vince netmail me about "ONLY" having
one feed to fido or something.
I didn't respond, I just thought I would ask in here if anyone knows how to
solve it, but I see someone else is having the same issue.
How do we solve this?
Awesome! Thanks. Didn't realise you could have multiple nodes setup in that way.
With both those fido links active I'm expecting a slight rise in dupes once I activate this, but at least I'll have all the mail coming in :)

Some people are still holding onto the 'old' ways of fido. Each node had
a specified uplink so that mail routing was simpler.

The one thing that can be done in HPT, I'm not sure if Mystic can do it
or not, is turn off export to a specific node. So, if for example, one
of my uplinks is having issues with dupe messages, I can turn off export to their node. It will still import, but any messages going out won't be sent to them. So far, I haven't had any issues like that.
You might be able to remove Vince from the export list for those message areas, to avoid sending messages through him. Mystic *should* still allow incoming messages. That might have to be tested with a single echo to
make sure...
I'm still to get the Netmail maybe. Probably not worth responding.
He should have a more reliable link and systems for an REC!
I'm keen to keep my NET250 node number because there's not many of us
left :( Maybe I should just jump ship and get a more reliable hub in Zone1.
If I'm getting incoming packets from 2 feeds for the "SYNCHRONET" echo
for example, these should be detected as dupes? I think that's correct. But if I reply in that echo I send a packet to both of my hubs? Then whichever packet gets out there first is the winner and the other is detected as a dupe?
Perhaps Dan has a better idea?!
In all honesty though, REC's like Vince are FidoNet of old. Very frustrating to deal with and poor communicators.
I hope he sees this!
That's exactly what I thought I need to do, and exactly what I haven't done yet, as I don't know how to see very quickly which echoes he
doesn't carry compared to what you're offering, and vice versa.
That I think is the way forward though.

How do we solve this?I was confused about this earlier too, and as the afternoon has progressed
