• presentation on ANSI art

From MeaTLoTioN@1337:1/101 to All on Thu Jun 3 17:13:37 2021
    Hey folks,

So some of you know already and most prolly don't, I'm going to be doing a presentation on ANSI art tonight at a local meetup group (but via zoom *shudder*), anyway the talk about ANSI art has slides, and I have created a slide show right on my BBS to use for the presentation.

If you'd like to come see the presentation (minus the bit with me talking), the

presentation can be seen from my doors menu, press "Z" (a hidden menu item). It

will take you into the presentation, and to navigate there are only 3 keys; left/right arrows, to go forward and backwards in the slides, and then escape to quit.

If you would like to come check it out, and like it, I will probably record the

presentation either tonight or on my own retrospectively, and put it up on odysee/lbry.

I also plan to release it as a mystic bbs mod once the presentation has been done so if you would like it, I will pass on the details as and when necessary.

Would like your feedback if you're willing to share it =)

Oh yea, that IS a good idea. Might bring some people to BBSing - who are curious about this ANSi business.

One thing I did is add an ANSI splash screen mentioning what the buttons are - since "Q" isn't programmed in the MPY a user needs to know how to ESC out. :P I

think the splash is fine, tho - and... thanks for allowing us to run it.

I'm super happy that you got beyond any nerves and did that.

Yah, it was tricky lol, half a bottle of wine helped a teeny tiny bit but the cause is worth it, sacrificing my nerves for the greater good lol.

I feel a bit terrible because... MY 'ANSiStory' section on 2o was SUPPOSED to talk about ANSI - and now I'm using YOUR presentation... and ... it fits. Better than what I DIDN'T create for MY section on 2o.

At any rate, thanks for sharing... its really good.

Don't feel terrible, the presentation isn't "my" presentation, it's our presentation, anyone can use it, I made it for the scene. Glad you like it and run it too, the more the merrier.

Since sharing the link (only on tqwNet by the way), it's already had like 4 clones when I checked yesterday =) - wonder who else has it running on their board.

I know it doesn't make sine; as some of the more advanced protocols SHOULD perform better - I get the best results with uploading large files just using plain old Zmodem.

I laugh when I finish some 1gb upload, on a protocol meant for Kilobytes.
